Suggestion For LCD-DTH
I read your article on "How to connect DTH to PC" and wondered if you had information along the lines that I am looking for.
My requirement is to get a DTH connection (yet to purchase one) to work with my 24" Full HD Dell monitor.
I am considering either DishTV's special STB which has a VGA out OR use an External TV tuner card.
I tried an Intex External TV Tuner and the output on my monitor was really bad (used Hathway cable STB as the source in this case).
Do you have any experience in terms of DishTV's VGA out quality?
There are some high end TV Tuner cards which support DVI output (from AverMedia), but I am a bit hesitant to invest in that due to the high price (Rs. 7000+) and no guarantee of what output to expect.
Any pointers from your side would be helpful.
-> As you have FullHD Monitor, I suggest you to go for Dish-TV as its interface has enough graphics and suitable for a FullHD LCD.
As in your case the video quality matters, External TV Tuners will give u very bad picture quality (as you have also experienced), it doesn't matter whether you have Hathway or a DTH, your Picture Quality will be extremely bad.
As per Dish-TV VGA Set-top-box, it has some built in settings, which will not let the picture quality to miss as those Set-top-box also supports LCD-TV's.
I suggest you don't invest such huge amount of money in things like "AverMedia", i mean to say such non-standered brand. Instead invest about 1000/- in DishTV's VGA Set-top-box, and have a better video output than TV Tuners.
